Honeywell Scanning and Mobility Is Now Brady: What UK Fleet Managers Should Do Next

FARNBOROUGH, 2 November 2026: Honeywell's scanning and mobility business now operates under Brady Corporation. Brady completed its acquisition of Honeywell Technologies' Productivity Solutions and Services (PSS) business on 3 August 2026, and reports it as a new segment called Intelligent Productivity Solutions (IPS). Brady has since introduced the RT710 rugged tablet, which US reseller CSSI describes as one of the first major mobile computers to launch under the Brady name. Honeywell's own product pages now state that "Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services is now part of Brady Corporation."
For UK organisations running Honeywell barcode scanners, mobile computers and label printers, the change is now visible on product pages, datasheets and partner communications. Here is what has changed, what has not, and how to plan your fleet with a circular economy approach.
What Brady acquired
PSS covers mobile computing, barcode scanning, RFID, printing and workflow software. Brady's investor FAQ lists its range as handheld computers and tablets, specialty rugged and general-purpose scanners, industrial and desktop printers, plus voice and device software. The business brings around 3,000 employees across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Brady's FAQ also states that PSS had an installed base of over 3 million devices with active service contracts as of 31 December 2025. That is a very large estate of working hardware across the logistics, warehousing, retail and manufacturing sectors Brady says PSS serves.
Two points are often misunderstood:
Honeywell itself has not been sold. Brady acquired the PSS business only, and Honeywell describes the deal as the sale of its PSS business.
The existing Brady business continues as a separate segment, Identification Solutions, alongside IPS.
What changes, and what stays the same
Partner updates published since the deal closed give a consistent picture. New Zealand distributor Sektor's reseller update says there are no immediate changes to products, contracts, support or RMAs, and that no products are currently being discontinued as a result of the acquisition. It also says future lifecycle changes will be communicated in advance under standard notification processes.
Branding
Brady branding is appearing on websites, portals, products, packaging and marketing materials. According to Sektor's update, Honeywell branding is due to be removed by August 2027. Taylor Data Systems reports that Brady does not anticipate changing product names or model numbers because of the acquisition.
Support channels
Taylor Data Systems also reports that existing support agreements remain in effect, and that customers should keep using their current support and download channels unless told otherwise.
New products
The RT710 shows where the roadmap is heading. It is a 10.1-inch Android vehicle-mount tablet built on the Mobility Edge platform. Brady's RT710 datasheet lists support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7 and integrated RAIN RFID.
Barcodetrade's view: an ownership change is not an end-of-life event
At Barcodetrade, we have worked on enterprise barcode hardware since 2005. Our view is simple: a change of brand does not make a working device obsolete. Refresh decisions should follow the model's published support status, its operating system and security patch level, its condition and the needs of your workflow. The name on the housing should not drive them.
There is a practical risk, though. During a rebrand, model numbers, manufacturer names and part references can appear differently in quotes, catalogues, asset registers and MDM consoles. If records are not kept in order, teams can lose track of which devices they hold, order the wrong spares, or retire devices that are still fit for service.
A 6-step action checklist for Honeywell fleet managers
Audit the estate by model and serial. Record each device's model, serial number, OS version, security patch level and condition. Include scanners, mobile computers, label printers, batteries, cradles and chargers.
Map every model to its lifecycle status. Check the support page for each model, and treat the published lifecycle notice as the trigger for planning, not the brand change. Flag any model already outside manufacturer support.
Update your records for both names. Add "Honeywell / Brady IPS" as a manufacturer alias in your asset register, MDM and procurement catalogue, so searches, reorders and audits still match.
Confirm your support contract coverage. List which devices are under a manufacturer or third-party support agreement and which are not. Uncovered devices are the ones most likely to be retired early when they fail.
Repair and refurbish before you replace. Battery replacement, screen and digitiser repair, re-imaging and current firmware can return a tired device to productive service. Spare units can be redeployed to sites, peaks or new projects.
Plan a responsible exit for the rest. When a device truly reaches the end of its working life, use certified data destruction and recycling. Recover any remaining value through resale or component recovery.
Why this matters for sustainability
The Global E-waste Monitor 2024 found that only 22.3% of e-waste generated worldwide in 2022 was documented as properly collected and recycled. Keeping a working scanner or mobile computer in service for longer delays the need to manufacture a replacement, and keeps it out of the waste stream.
That is why Barcodetrade's circular economy model puts repair, refurbishment and redeployment ahead of disposal. Barcodetrade has already helped save 950,000+ devices from landfill, preventing 350,000 kg of CO₂e emissions. You can estimate the impact of your own fleet with our CO₂ calculator.

Frequently asked questions
Has Brady bought Honeywell?
No. Brady acquired Honeywell Technologies' Productivity Solutions and Services (PSS) business, which covers mobile computing, barcode scanning, RFID, printing and workflow software. The deal completed on 3 August 2026, and the business now operates within Brady as Intelligent Productivity Solutions (IPS).
Do I need to replace my Honeywell scanners or mobile computers?
Not because of the acquisition. Partner updates say no products are currently being discontinued as a result of the acquisition, and that future lifecycle changes will be announced in advance. Base refresh decisions on each model's published support status, OS and security patch level, and condition.
Will Honeywell products be renamed?
Brady branding is gradually replacing Honeywell branding, and partner updates say Honeywell branding is due to be removed by August 2027. Taylor Data Systems reports that Brady does not anticipate changing product names or model numbers because of the acquisition.
Can Barcodetrade repair Honeywell devices?
Yes. Barcodetrade services Honeywell barcode scanners, Dolphin and CK series mobile computers, and PM42, PC43t, M-Class and PX940 label printers. Barcodetrade is an independent lifecycle specialist, not a Brady or Honeywell service partner.
What should I do with Honeywell devices I no longer need?
Redeploy or refurbish them first. If they have no further use, Barcodetrade's buy-back and ITAD services provide certified data destruction, value recovery and WEEE-compliant recycling under a zero-landfill policy.
